Uruguay’s New Electric Ferry Expands Regional Passenger and Vehicle Connectivity
The China Zorrilla electric ferry began operations between Colonia del Sacramento and Buenos Aires during the week, with capacity for 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles. Uruguay’s government highlighted the vessel on 22 October as a major step in cross-border connectivity and cleaner transport, although the ferry’s investment price was not disclosed. Tourism operators and hotels can explore booking integration, visitor services and sustainable travel experiences, while HPC can support hospitality technology and visitor-data analytics.
